Mariam felt hurt by others' rejection.
She asked the Rabbi, "Why did this happen?"
Rabbi Jesus answered, "They dislike the fact that you are joyful to be you.
True confidence is always a powerful irritant to the lesser confident.
And you win true confidence - and friendship - in Me."
Rejoice in who you are. God created you, unique and irreplaceable. From the beginning of time onwards into all eternity, there will only ever be one you. This is a beautiful thing. Blossom and thrive in the confidence that God loves you.
And remember: Christ is our eternal Mentor and Friend. The Saviour has undertaken to bring the unique work of perfection in your soul to completion. Retain complete confidence in Him.
As St Paul tells us in Philippians 1, "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He Who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the Day of Christ Jesus."
